Movie Preparation Training (perryeigo)

The Scott Perry Academy has been assisting Hollywood level Japanese actors since 2011 and continues to work with many of them today. We have developed a training program designed to help established and new actors who are interested in challenging Hollywood movies. Our program is very comprehensive and detailed, with An emphasis on pronunciation. Some of our training is a collaboration with the Ascott group.

NOTE: Scott Perry studied directing at famous UCLA Theater school for 2 years.

Training you can expect:

Advanced pronunciation training
The actor training program
Script rehearsals
Monologue development
Performance critique

Beginner actor training/ and support:

This part of the development is similar to a standard pronunciation student. With an emphasis on nonverbal communication, smoothness, speed, and language nuances. In this phase we will separate book English from natural spoken English.

Established actor training and support:

In this program we primarily focus on delivering a native sounding performance and understanding the script and emotions involved. As an established actor, we do not focus on acting skills.

Preparation for a role:

In this phase we have your script and we are reviewing rehearsing, understanding the nuances the meanings the emotions and you are getting your questions answered. We are making sure that everything you say is perfect.

Active movie work and support via Zoom:

In this phase of the program, you are actively working on a movie set and require daily adjustments and confirmation of your accuracy. we will reviews possible script changes or additional lines that the director may require

On-set movie work:

If we are in this phase of the program we will both be on set and actively working on the dialogue as needed. We are unable to know the details because each situation is different.

"英語のスクリプトの発音チェックを受けて…

まず、スコット先生の発音指導には“妥協”という文字がありません。『伝わればいい』と流すことはありませんでした。小さな不自然な発音も見逃しません。英語の発音を習う上で、『ネイティブの発音で話す』＝『無理せずに“自然”に話す』が私にとって理想であり、目標です。

スコット先生はそこを十分に理解した上で、何故、ネイティブの発音では無いのか、そして、それをどうしたらネイティブの発音、イントーションに出来るのかを即座に、私が飲み込みすい方法で教えてくれました。日本人特有の苦手な発音は勿論ですが、私自身では気付かない改善必要な点をピックアップしてくれました。私はゴールを設定しさえすれば、方法はスコット先生が最短で教えくれるので、今まで不可能だと思っていた事も可能なのだと知りました。参加したワークショップで、『シンプルで自然に感情が伝わってきた』という言葉を頂きました。
